I was so excited about the diaper service. Well, it's going out of business. Big bummer. The owner said it's considered a luxery. I thought disposables were the luxery.
The good news is that she explained step-by-step how we can wash our own cloth diapers and it's very easy. All you have to do is dump the diapers in the laundry every other day, run them on cold rinse with no detergent, then run them on hot with detergent. It's OK to add white vinegar, oxybleach, or borax to help keep them white. Hang them in the sun to really bleach them.
The better news is that it doesn't sound disgusting or very difficult. So, we're going to give it a shot; at least while she's exclusivey breast-fed. After that it gets a little bit grosser. It's definitely a lot cheaper, especially since we have a front-loading high efficiency washer that doesn't use that much water and gets everything super dry before it heads for the dryer.
